Sebastian is angry.

All at once, that wonderful peace that he had spent so long gradually slipping into is shattered, and all that remains is an all-too human rage.
The need for vengeance is a strong one, and not as easily muffled as vices like lust and pride.

He tries to hold it in, at first. He remembers his teachings and he kneels down before the statue of Andraste in the Chantry, folds his hands and prays for guidance. He prays that she will grant him the strength to forgive. To forget.
But time passes and the prayer solves nothing. All he can think of is his family, cut down in the name of... what? Money? Jealousy? Power?

All he can think of is the blood of the Vaels that has been spilled for earthly desires that he would have traded in a heartbeat.

He is angry again, and he clips on his armor and strings up his bow, ready to hunt down the monsters who would slaughter an entire household. But his rage clears just enough for him to realize that no, that's not the best idea; he cannot go alone.
He will be murdered, just like the rest, and then the Vaels will truly disappear.

But he cannot know peace until the murderers see justice. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth: Sebastian will hire his own mercenaries to hunt down the ones that killed his family.
He writes the letter for the board, Elthina pretending not to peer over his shoulder as she watches him. She is concerned, but she needn't be. This is what he has chosen, and he is sure.

He sticks the poster to the Chanter's board and is not surprised when Elthina snatches it down almost immediately.
"The Chantry cannot condone revenge, Sebastian!"

She does not understand, Maker bless her heart, that there is a difference between revenge and justice. Sebastian wants the latter; revenge is just a bonus.
